What is Tui Na?

Tui Na is an oriental bodywork therapy that been used in china over 2,000 years. It uses the traditional Chinese medical theory which is closely related to acupuncture of the flow Qi through the meridians and collaterals (Jing Luo) and organs (Zang-Fu) as its basic therapeutic orientation. Through the application of massage and manipulation techniques Tui Na seeks to establish a more harmonious flow of Qi through the system of channels and collaterals, allowing the body the natural heal itself.

Tui Na methods include the use over 50 different kinds of hand techniques to massage the soft tissue (muscles and tendons) of the body, acupressure techniques to directly affect the flow of Qi, and ligament relationship (bone-setting). It is and effective and comprehensive therapy and works jointly alongside herbs, diet Qi Gong and one of the fundamental arts. The Chinese Tui Na therapy system involves the running of the fingers over bloodlines or muscles and provides the healing for a wide range of diseases.
